From the articles that I have posted, it is also important to take care of our colon. There are a lot of ways by which we can have optimal colon health. These range from enemas and washes up to taking herbal supplements and other medictions. However, the best way for colon cleansing comes from the food we eat, from our diet. By incorporating these foods in our diet with the right amount of it, we can say hello to a healthy colon.

However, the choice of food we eat can have huge impact on the way our colon works. Some foods promote healthy colon and intestinal function but others do not which causes constipation, bloating, clogging and other illness.

Colon cleansing is as important as brushing our teeth. Other parts of our body also needs periodic cleaning to help remove build up of unwanted substance. In our intestinal tracksa nd our colon, toxic material can accumulate on the walls of the organs due to a couple of things. This might be due to stress, poor diet, polution, lack of exercise and the normal aign process. Since our intestine is primarily involve in waste removal, colon cleansing is very important to keep it on its optimum level.

Below are the food types that I know that has a powerful colon cleansing and detoxtifying foods.

Water: Drinking at least 2 liters of water is very essential in our daily diet. Drinking water not only benefit our colon but also improve our overall health. Water helps push out toxins in our body. Just have to make sure that we are drinking safe and clean water all the time.

Fruits: Fresh fruits are among the best colon cleansing food that you will find. Almost all fruits are not only rich in fiber, especially when you eat with their skin along, but they are a source of natural enzymes that aid digestion. The enzymes found in fresh fruits can actually help your body in getting rid of almost all kinds of ailments and not only help you in achieving perfect colon health, but also strengthen the whole immune system and body through their detoxifying action. Fruits also have high water content which is also essential to colon health and other body organs. Choose organic fruits as much as posible to minimize pesticide comsumption and other toxins.

If you find eating a lot of fresh fruits difficult, you can drink juices as long as they are freshly squeezed and without additives. These juices are easily digested and all the vitamins and minerals are absorbed by the body. Some of the best fruits for colon cleansing are apples and pears with skins, oranges, papayas, prunes, figs, grapes and berries.
Patients with diabetes should exercise caution when consuming large quantities of fruit juices that may be high in sugar content.

Vegetables: Fresh vegetables are high in fiber, has a lot of nutrients and enzyme content. Fresh vegetables are rich in vitamins, minerals and enzymes that help in healing and strengthening the whole digestive tract. Veggies work best when taken raw, but if you have a problem consuming raw vegetables, then drinking vegetable juices and eating steamed veggies or having them in a dressed salad could possibly work for you.
According to some sources that I read, for perfect health, we should aim in eating at 60% of our veggies in raw and to avoid toxins, we should prefer eating organic vegetables in raw form. Some of the best colon cleansing vegetables are spinach, broccoli, watercress, kale, beet greens, rhubarb, turnip, parsnips, bean sprouts, winter squash, eggplant, artichokes, peas and corn.

Cereals: Whole grain cereals like wheat, brown rice, rye, flax, barley and oats are rich sources of soluble fibers that aid the colon in proper digestion. Then of course, they are loaded with vitamins that are needed for healing and strengthening.

In addition to thhe foods above, there are also food supplement the aids in colon cleansing.Natural ingredients such as Senna, Slippery Elm, Psyllium, and Lactobacillus Acidophilus help to clean out accumulated toxins gently and naturally while promoting improved absorption of vital nutrients. Understanding Colon

Our large intestine is also called the colon. The last part of the small intestine is called the ileum which is then connected to the first part of the large intestine which is called the cecum in the lower right part of our abdomen. The rest of the colon is then divided into four parts which are:

Ascending Colon – travels up the right of the abdomen

Descending Colon – travels down the left abdomen

Transverse Colon – runs across the abdomen

Sigmoid Colon – a short curving of the colon, just before the rectum

Colon functions in removing the water, salt and some nutrients which is formed as stool. Muscles line the colon walls, squeezing its contents along. Billions of bacteria coat the colon and its contents, living in a healthy balance with the body.
